Guiding You Through Menopause & Women’s Health Issues
Welcome to Hermona Health. In our Perth-based clinic, we take a holistic, three-pillared approach to your journey through menopause and women’s health issues.
Every woman will face menopause. There’s no denying or stopping it. The journey from perimenopause to postmenopause is rarely linear and is always different for every woman. Some may breeze through, while others may struggle with difficult physical, mental, or metabolic health symptoms.
Despite this, the word menopause is still taboo, and holistic, patient-led treatment can be hard to find. Whether occurring naturally, chemically, or induced surgically, Hermona Health is committed to helping women find their spark again as they transition through menopause.
Perimenopause
The beginning of the menopause transition.
Perimenopause usually begins at around age 40-45, though it can start earlier.
The first sign of perimenopause is often a change in your normal menstrual cycle*. Due to the fluctuations in your hormones – oestrogen, testosterone, and progesterone, you may also experience other symptoms:
*Contraception does not stop the process of perimenopause, but it can mask it.
Menopause
12 consecutive months with no period.
Menopause begins after perimenopause, typically at age 45-55. It can start naturally, chemically through hormone-suppressing medications, or as a result of surgery, like an oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) or a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus).
The symptoms of menopause present similarly to perimenopause, but may also include:
Postmenopause
One year and one day without a period for the rest of your life.
Postmenopause is the stage when your ovaries stop producing oestrogen. It can bring different health risks due to the change in hormones, like osteoporosis, urinary tract infections, or cardiovascular disease.
Menopausal symptoms may become milder during this stage, but some women still experience:

Menopause Support
Services
Hermona Health women’s clinic in Perth provides a range of services to help women transition from perimenopause to menopause and postmenopause. We do not apply a blanket approach—finding the right course of action can take time, with adjustments on the way.
Menopause Consultations

Menopause struggles or hormonal issues, unfortunately, aren’t fixed overnight.
During your consultation, we take the time to get to know you and the troubles you’ve been facing. This time together is crucial to deciding on the best course of action for you, and having a professional listening ear may lend you some comfort in the meantime.
Treatment for Perimenopause,
Menopause & Postmenopause

After receiving your test results, we’ll have another consultation to discuss a treatment plan. Commonly, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is prescribed to help manage symptoms, but a non-hormonal solution may better suit you.
If you decide to start HRT, it can take up to three months to start feeling a difference in yourself. We’ll have another consultation at this mark so we can discuss how everything is going, and hopefully, you’ll be feeling some relief! However, if you have any concerns, please contact us as the dosage may need adjusting or reviewing earlier.
Familiar with being stuck in traffic, rage boiling in your tummy? We get it.
Your life is busy and stressful enough without worrying about having to travel for support with your menopause symptoms. Though we invite you to visit us in our Perth clinic, your convenience is more important. To reflect this, our prices for telehealth and face-to-face consultations are the same.
